Woke up at 7am, supposed to go early to settle the voting thing...but it was raining, and the weather cool...so slept in lor...not even voting is more important than a night snooze in cool, rainy weather! Hah! Left the home at 8am and took a 5min stroll to the primary just next to my block. Mom was with me...and we talked rubbish and gushed about silly inconsequential things as we headed to put our pens to silly slips of paper.
I really do not feel anything about the GE lor...I know that I should be politically, or at the very least, be interested in it for GENERAL KNOWLEDGE...but I really cannot be bothered lah. I am a SHEEP...
(yes, everyone is allowed to go form your views on my political outlook, or lack there of, on situation in our fine island nation)
I told my mom two stories with slight political reference/commentry:
==========================================================================
Story 1:
I was in a cab, and the cabbie was chatty. I was feeling somewhat chatty too, so we did what two chatty people do when they're together...they chat. He started telling me about how business was exceptionally good on Friday night...(this was the weekend the Progress Package was issued). Basically, he feels that since the 'zeng hu'/'gahmen' (dialects for government) gave out the moolah that week, everyone come out and play lor...purse strings loose already what...
The way he said it was so funny lah...don't really know how to describe to you also...but I totally understood. He said business was almost akin to that on Christmas night, or that of any major public holiday.
==========================================================================
Story 2:
This story is Vincent tell me one...super farnie...
Vi's Grandma: 'Zeng hu' good what...they give us money leh... (this was said in an innocent, cheery voice)
Look on Vi's Mom's face = 'crap, she's talking again...she really shouldn't talk about these kinda things...especially to taxi drivers'
Vincent looks on at the proceedings with interest.
Taxi Driver: 'Zeng hu' give you money? 'Zeng hu' give you MONEY?!?! That money is OURS lor!
MWAHAHHAHA...poor Vi's grandma...nothing to say already.

Anyway, back to my Saturday...I started tuition. This pair of Primary 6 girls...quite funny, but terrible English. I feel it's really a last minute thing, but after hearing how f***ed up their school teacher was...I felt obliged to give them at least a fighting chance.
How does a P6 child understand experiments if they've NEVER done them? Is not the entire point of studying Science to have hands-on experiences? And the teacher's excuse is that they have no time! He actually told them TO GO AND STUDY by THEMSELVES! Ridiculous!
Hopefully I can help them I guess...final year leh...and still don't know a thing.
After that I went to town to meet up with Leonard to jalan-jalan. We walked around aimlessly for about an hour and a half before we actually did some shopping. I bought myself a new pair of earphones, and Leonard bought this funky graphic tee. We spent more time bitching and talking rubbish lah...both of us not really in the mood for shopping..
Dinner was the highlight. He had been wanting to try this Japanese restaurant at Tiong Bahru Plaza, and since it was near my place (mwahahaha...I know I'm evil..but he's going back to hall anyway what!) I said let's go there and try it out. When we arrived, it was the only restaurant with NO queue...I thought to myself that Leonard must be crazy lor...eat at this kinda place. But since we already came all the way, just give it a try. 2 minutes after we were seated...there a substantial queue outside! At least 6 people man! Whew! So we were actually lucky lor...heh
There were some fairy lights which we both agreed seemed a little OFF...they were blinking too...haha
Some interestingly gross, yet nice funky beans. Not heavenly to taste, but yet compelling.
Anyway, we both ordered the Paper Pot thingy...you know, the one where the 'magic' paper pot does not seem to catch fire at all? I had a Salmon and Leonard had a Beef. Really not bad, and if you add a dollar, you get fried tofu, plus a free can of Coke. Not bad right? Oh! We dined al fresco somemore! Not bad leh...I was seriously impressed with the place lah...glad we tried it out.
Who wants to go? Next time I bring you there ok? Just let me know...hahhaa
That was my Saturday lor...later going to rush my data entry liao...so sianz....
Nitez.......
