Riverside Point-Scary Science-Pool

Just came back from dinner with Yixin. It was my SUPER BELATED birthday treat from her. Haha...we ate at the Riverside 'dunno-what' Restaurant. Basically, we had...

Stingray, kang kong, grilled chicken, garlic prawns...

The whole thing cost us $42.30...not too shabby at all...we each had a soursop drink, and the rice had to be charged separately...but we got to dine, somewhat near the river...so it wasn't that bad. ^_^

Apparently, it's a pretty popular place, and was fully booked when we arrived. Next time we know what to do liao...heh...book first...are arrive a little later...

After sending Yixin home, I managed to catch Norman's and Jonathan's performances on the bus (God bless TV Mobile!!!). Norman wasn't too bad...but his energy levels were a little low...Jonathan already has low energy levels, so he picked a song that was just right for his laissez-faire kinda person. He worked the crowd (and the judges) man...

I was a little disappointed that I missed Terence's and Levin's performances...this group was the the one i really wanted to watch lor...haiz...but it's okay...dinner with Yixin is important too..heh

Oh, I have another confession to make...I voted...via SMS....TWICE... ^_^ I will keep track of my expenditure with regards to Singapore Idol.. (rest assured I WILL NOT join that ridiculous 'Idol-on-Demand'...dunno what "32cents a day, $9.60 a month"...rubbish sia...I have better ways of wasting my hard earned money lor!)

================================================================================================

I've decided already...this Sunday I will head down to the PC show, and pick up a new graphics card along with a birthday prezzie of a close friend...heehee. Now, I just need to get Mom to sponsor all of/a portion of the cost of the graphics card...sighz...better go and drink some honey water...heh

================================================================================================

Oh, and for no good reason whatsoever, here are some photos from work, on things that I will probably NEVER understand...

confession time

Everyone...I have a confession to make...I've fallen in love with Singapore Idol.

I don't know why...I mean, I never make it a point to follow reality television shows anymore...but for some strange reason, I am very VERY drawn to this season of Singapore Idol. Maybe it's the contestants? ALL are better looking in my opinion...and I think quality also not bad. Especially the girls...the guys only some can make it lah...but got quite a few good looking ones. Heh.

I love Rahimah Rahim (hope I got her name right)...I just find her so cute. And her voice, though unstable at times, is pretty POWER...heh. Hope she does well...just need to work on the image thing, and start taking care of her complexion...then sui sui bo zao zui...hahaha...The rest of the girls don't really need my support lah...all quite hot and can sing also...

Let's see...for the guys ah...got quite a few I like leh...Jonathan is definitely one of my favourites...and Terence Tay is well...I've always enjoyed his qurkiness from his Living With Lydia days...so yeah..these two are my favs. Levin's very cute too...like the 'mi mi yan' boy-boy...

Next round got audience voting already leh...but I know myself...I very stingy one...won't anyhow anyhow vote lor...I know I should put my money where my mouth is...but to be honest, I am quite happy to just watch the shows and enjoy my favourite contestants until they get booted out/win! Hahaha...but you never know lah..this season is a little different, I feel different....I may just vote...wahahaha
===========================================================================
Next weekend, I'll be assisting at TCC...Friday and Saturday. Quite excited for Friday, cos' it's gonna be a challenge...there'll be almost NO manpower, and I'm team leader too! A challenge! I haven't had one for ages...getting rusty liao...so perfect opportunity to sharpen my skills again...and get some drive back into my life in the process. ^_^

Woot! ^_^

24 (silly me...)

Why 'silly me'? well...in my eagerness to 'suan' Beth about her multiple head traumas as the main explanation to her (lack of) seemingly (ab)normal mental capabilities, I did not realise that I was tagged (I was the first two people who responded in the 'Comments' box...DAMN!)

So here goes:

Once you’ve been tagged, write a post with 24 interesting facts/things/habits about yourself then tag 6 other people.

1. I still watch cartoons religiously..and since I've no cable/SCV at all...I'm stuck with Kids Central...(dang it, Cartoon Network is SOOOO much better, but God save me if I ever get my hands on that channel...I may never leave home again)

2. My front incisors DO NOT meet...it's a jaw thing... (I bless the powers that be, that I do not talk with a lisp/air doesn't escape involuntarily...well, not all the time at least...oral examinations during Primary/Secondary school days ALWAYS yielded distinctions for me ok?)

3. I am still OVERWEIGHT.

4. I love to eat fried bee hoon mixed into porridge (I really should stop bitching about people who eat French fries with Sundaes...hahaha)

5. My right calf is bigger than my left calf.

6. I have a bit of pencil lead stuck in my right knee when I accidentally stabbed myself with a pencil. I was 8...

7. My eyes are BROWN...(maybe I'm a little wittle bit ang mo...hahaha)

8. I can shop with LOADS of STAMINA. Michele and Xiaomin once made me walk up and down Orchard Road (we are talking about from LIDO to Plaza Singapura and back again) FIVE FREAKING TIMES...and I survived! I've been well-trained girls, by the BEST.

9. I still play collectible card games (like Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh), and I'm proud of it!

10. My moral bypass: AS LONG AS I DID NOT INITIATE IT, IT'S OKAY.

11. I have so many cute friends it scares me...I think it's because of that I may have standards which are too high...sheesh...

12. I slipped on water when I was 6 and slashed my chin with one of those metal thingies you use to open biscuit tins. I needed 8 stitches and when it was happening, I wasn't even fully unconscious.

13. I'm balding.

14. Yes, I still pick my nose (don't you dare give me shit about this...at least I'm honest).

15. I like to turn on the air-con/fan/when the weather is cold, and then wrap myself in blankets and snuggle with my pillows. It's the whole, I-wanna-feel-cosy-and-safe thing.

16. I was in the Drama Club.

17. I once wetted an entire wad of toilet paper with water and threw it onto the ceiling...that was SO COOL!

18. I can curl my tongue up into a semi-tube...heehee

19. I believe everyone is GAY until proven NOT GAY. (This means they may still be bisexual you know...hahaha...this mantra applies especially to the homophobic individuals on this planet)

20. I am a bitch/bitchy (at times...OK OK...alot of the time).

21. I am attracted to the strangest of people...but they have certain common traits. This is the worst one - they are all insecure with themselves. Sighz...

22. I can sit in a full-Lotus position and bend over and almost kiss the ground. ^_^

23. I preen a lot in front of the mirror, but of course none of you actually know that...until now that is...hahaha

24. I am 3/4 non-virgin...haha...go figure.
======================================================================================
That was quite fun, and I am most certain VERY VERY informative...hahaha...go try this out lah...quite interesting.

I tag : Aloy, Ting, Kelvin Tan, Jun, Des Ee, Ritchie!!!
(I think you all sure don't dare to do one...or too bloody lazy or something right?)

You've got mail!

==============================================
Qi Cong! I left you an email...sent to your SingNet email account! Go and check!

Just feeling nostalgic...the good ol' days...miss ya guys man... ^_^

X-Men: The Last Stand

A few things I didn't like about the movie:

1. Storm DOES NOT (for the life of God) spin around (seemingly) uncontrollably when she is using her powers...that's just plain ridiculous.

2. The Phoenix was never a part of Jean! It is a SENTIENT COSMIC ENTITY which fused/possessed Jean during the M'cron Crystal incident with the Shi'ar Empire...

3. Jean DID NOT kill Professor X...

4. I still think Scott/Cyclops looks like a 'toot'...so silly lah...his stupid visor and all that.

5. I DO NOT LIKE Halle Berry's new hair...yucks...

6. Why is Kitty/Shadowcat so damn bloody short?

7. What was with the lame-ass script? Some of the lines are just plain dumb/cliched/confusing...

8. Magneto = Class 5 Mutant = needs FOUR (count 'em F-O-U-R) needles of 'The Cure' to stop his powers? Sheesh...overkill..

9. Angel was a disappointment...Ben Foster just doesn't cut it...face too narrow, eyes too closely-set...not All-American looking enough.

10. Dark Phoenix is SO OBVIOUSLY a rip off from Buffy's Dark Willow episode... (right down to the black eyeballs, and pale, veiny skin)

11. Bobby/Iceman's Ice Armour was LOOOOONG overdue...it finally came out in this installment...sheesh

12. Dr. Moira McTaggert is NOT supposed to be SO DAMN HOT...she's supposed to be old, and genial, and wizened.

13. Leech is supposed to be GREEN, and he's supposed to look like a toad...he's a Morlock for heaven's sake...

14. Angel flies like on idiot...he's supposed to do a 'Superman'...not hold his arms behind him like a ninja from Naruto.

A few things I did like about the movie:

1. Magneto was great as usual...it's Sir Ian McKellen...you can't for ask much more from Gandalf/Teabing you know... ^_^

2. Totally LOVED Jean's telekinesis at the molecular level...that's how everything seem to just disintegrate when she used her powers. ^_^ Too chio!

3. The special effects were excellent...loved the part when Jean takes down the reinforced metal door in the mansion, and when she dismantled the gun and threatened Magneto with 'The Cure'.

==================================================================================
Sadly, I can't think of anything more to say about X-Men: The Last Stand. It's entertaining in general, and I was so excited going into the cinema...sadly, the storyline was too mangled for my tastes...and having to depend on special effects alone just doesn't cut it for me...

I wonder if the upcoming Superman will be a letdown...I certainly hope not. Well, thanks to the guys (Amos, James, Aiman, Vincent, Matt) for the excellent company. Meet up soon! :)

Still missing/going to be missing those friends who are overseas...thinking/will be thinking about you all the time...sianz...

PS: Yes yes...if I had to choose between James Marsden and Hugh Jackman...of course choose Hugh lah...no fight man...heh

我的华语名单

我的手机里头有一个华语名单。 这个名单的人都是我最喜欢的朋友。 到目前为止,名单只有三个人。 他们是谁呢? 我不告诉你。。。是我的私事。。嘿嘿。。

=============================================================================

Okay, typing in Chinese is a serious pain...quite difficult to up my speed at all...

I have a Chinese namelist in my handphone, and these people are individuals who I feel are really important to me...that's why they have their names in Chinese...heehee Of course, they are not family lah...family is different. These individuals fall into the category of close friends/people-I-have-好感 for...

At the moment, I only have 3 names in this list...hahaha...those who wanna know who these people are, have to ask me nicely, or steal my phone lor...wahahahah....

=============================================================================

Why did I type the above? I dunno...I only know that I'm damn BORED! Like SUPER DUPER BORED! ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH....someone save me please...

:(

I humour Beth...

Put your music player on ’shuffle’ mode and take down the names of the first 15 songs you hear as the answers to these ten questions:

How does the world see me?
12 Spin - by Darren Hayes (HUH?! why don't you guys tell me?)

Will I have a happy life?
江南 - by JJ, 林俊杰 (将来很难...tell me something I don't know. ;p)

What do my friends think of me?
Harmonia (Saboten Version) - by Rhythem (this one was in Japanese...and from Naruto...so...I HAVE NO IDEA...see lah, silly Beth make me do silly things!)

Do people secretly lust after me?
Touch Me When We're Dancing - by The Carpenters (YES! better than Beth's result...HAH! I need to dance more...wahahaha)

How can I make myself happy?
Title And Registration - by Death Cab for Cutie (so I crave power? or maybe I need labels [title=label?]? weird...)

What should I do with my life?
Would You Be Happier? - by The Corrs (I hate song titles that are QUESTIONS...doesn't work for this quiz)

Will I ever have children?
害怕 - by Stefanie Sun, 孙燕姿 (WOW...this one pretty much hit the nail on the head man...)

What is some good advice for me?
Hanaichirin's Love - by Yuki Kajiura, Mai-Otome OST (Another Japanese track from an excellent anime...I need to receive love from someone called Hanaichirin I guess...sighz..or maybe just love... ^_^)

How will I be remembered?
I'm Glad There Is You - by Jamie Cullum (so I will live in the hearts of all those whom I've touched...that's nice...wonder how many people say that about me..heehee...I know there are many people I'm glad are around. ^_^ *cue "Awwwwww..."*)

What is my signature dancing song?
Daybreak Symphony - by Taku Iwasaki, Yakitate Japan OST (starts off very much like that 'we will, we will rock you!' song...this track is very good...very inspirational and got people clapping in the background somemore...I like...but totally cannot dance to it lah...unless you count two-stepping as dancing lor...heh)

What do I think my current theme song is?
Yoake Umare Kuru Shoujo - by Yoko Takahashi, Shakugan no Shana OST (Japanese again...I think this one is talking about some girl being strong or something like that lah...)

What does everybody think my current theme song is?
Anon no Housoku - by Tada Akifumi, The Law of Ueki OST (Bad guy music track...hmm...)

What song will be played at my funeral?
Friends - by Michael W. Smith (I KID YOU NOT!!! iTunes has blessed me...haha...I love this song lah...I remember crying to this song during secondary school...everyone was leaving each other mah...so very very 'feeling-feeling'...I realised that I'm quite bad, I want everyone to cry at my funeral...shame on me...this song sure cause tears one mah...)

What type of men/women do I like?
Situations - by Jack Johnson (wah lau...boring leh...everyone I like is/will always be a 'situation' what...very talk rubbish again lor...stupid iTunes...)

What is my day going to be like?
Akikaze Uta Akeboshi - Naruto OST (WTF?!?!?! Another Japanese track...no idea what it means lah...anyone knows? Let me know ok?)
==================================================================
Ok lah, the quiz was MODERATELY FUN only...and this is the first time I'm actually responding to a tag from a friend lor...(so Beth, count yourself very HONOURED wor!)...and of course, I will never dream of causing such distress to the ones I LOVE and HOLD DEAR...so I tag NOBODY! Bleah!

I still love iTunes! ^_^

Camp Comedy

I just got back from Camp Comedy with Jobeth, Max, and her friends. It was a great show! The finale night had Rick Lau from Aussieland, our very own Broadway Beng, and our based-in-USA Lounge-zilla! Three acts leh! (Supposed to be only 2, but Lounge-zilla was asked back due to popular demand!) The whole thing was held at Zouk, and tickets cost $42 (inclusive of one drink), but dearest of dears, Beth, got them for free for us...bless her soul!

Well, let me first admit that by going for this event, I've broken three important rules set by the doctor. One, no staying out late. Two, no smokey environments (everyone at Zouk practically lights up...it's a freaking chimney in there). Three, no alcohol (remember the one free drink?) So yeah, I've been a bad boy...sighz...

Irene Ang hosted the show, and boy, did she look slim! She began by sashaying onto stage, and asked everyone, "大家,你们说我瘦吗?" Of course, everyone agreed, and she then unabashedly thanked Marie France Bodyline for "wrapping, slapping and electrocuting" her twice a week. And she said all of this in a Malaysia-Chinese accent, which was super accurate too! ^_^

So we begin the evening with Rick Lau...born in Hong Kong, and lived in San Fran, and eventually Australia I presume. He was my least favourite act, but I totally loved when he went into Cantonese mode lor...super super farnie...even though my Cantonese is only mediocre, I could understand smatterings of it here and there I guess. His singing was okay...but I think I still loved his sharing of Mrs Lau's, Mrs Ouyang's, Mrs Ma's, and Mrs Fan's musings when he was a kid the funniest, cos' he would imitate everything they said.

Broadway Beng, Sebastian, was next! I did not like his opening number...it was little too long, and slightly pretentious. Almost like an excuse to show off his talents as an aspiring bard, and fairly wide vocal range. But he soon won my heart over, when he really began to speak Hokkien with such flair, and well, let's just say that it wasn't as rehearsed as I expected it to be. He even sang a Hokkien song with Irene Ang's father who was in the audience. Mr Ang's voice is superb I tell you...everyone in the audience really got into the whole Hokkien singing, and all of Sebastian's jokes about 七月getai, and people making out "in the jungle" and other people who make it their business to 'lia kow' (catch monkeys in Hokkien, meaning to catch these lovers going at it). It was really good, unadulterated fun! ^_^

The final icing on the cake was from Lounge-zilla. He's basically the Asian version of Jack McFarland ('d' added courtesy of Beth) from Will & Grace. Very VERY CAMPY, very very flambouyant, and VERY VERY GAY! Hahaha...he doesn't look like one, but he behaved totally like a queen/princess/makcik/diva/any-noun-meaning-female-authority-figure.

And here's what happened: He dragged ME on stage! He was like, "YOU!" And I was like (silent scream:OH FUCK...), "ME?!?!?!" But of course, I've always been generally sporting, and tonight had been a fun night so far (or you could always blame the mix of vodka lime, and my medicine...oops), so I hopped onto stage, and let him have his way with me. Of course, I was humiliated, and Beth and Max laughed their heads off (twice or thrice I think), but I had a lot of fun. I danced (to It's Raining Men some more), made silly faces (unforced errors, all of them! I swear!), and yeah...it was ALL GOOD. ^_^

Oh Beth took pictures, and I am SURE that she has no qualms about posting them on her blog.

[Note to self: Never sit near the front of the stage while wearing a NUMtee, especially when one of the performers is a campy gay man who has no qualms about humiliating poor unsuspecting audience members]

We ended the evening at this very cosy place where they served sinful thick, Hong Kong style toast (doused in sweetened, condensed milk and peanut butter). I only had a hot honey lemon drink...didn't want to be too adventurous.

When we were leaving the place, this guy came up to me, slapped me on the back, and said, "Great show man!" I was flabbergasted...Beth and the rest laughed...and I grinned like an idiot...haha

That was my amazing night at Camp Comedy...I think I will go next year. Worth the money man... (when I actually pay for it next year lah..haha)

Unforgettable

I just finished watching the last episode of Will & Grace. It was beautiful, but both their children look damn cute. ^_^ (both the infant and teenager versions...heehee) Anyway, when Jack and Karen did the duet of the song below, it really was quite touching. And for some reason, there was some kind of resonance within me that echoed of my past, present and future. It was a nice feeling...

I still stand by the notion that we never truly forget anything (yes 启聪, I know u don't agree, but it's true...)...we remember everything that has ever happened to us. It is locked into our bodies and doesn't just disappear. We can will it from sight, mind, but if we are truly honest and peek under that little flap of shadows in the corners of our hearts, it's there.

I was just thinking about everyone and everything in my life (which is a LOT, as is the same for everyone else), and even though not every single thing "clings to me" like "a song of love" (some more like some slime from a random disgusting swamp), but they are unforgettable nonetheless. Haha.

Thanks (and no thanks) for everything and everyone that has contributed to me, and I can only hope that I've done the same for you. If I haven't, and you feel unhappy about that, AND feel courageous and thick-skinned enough to come and get some 'contribution' (whatever u feel that may be....), feel free to call me ok?

I am just going to sit back and enjoy the song...all of you are unforgettable... love (and not love) all of you. :)

========================================================
(I have the Nat King Cole version, but the Jack and Karen was just as nice..^^)

Unforgettable

Unforgettable, that's what you are
Unforgettable though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

No never before
has someone been more ooh

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

the blade and the chalice guards her gates...

Just watched the Da Vinci Code with the guys, at The Cathay. It's not bad at all...I quite liked the movie in general. It was incredibly long though...2 and a half hours...sheesh.

I don't really like the whole receding-hairline thing that Tom Hanks was doing...but the actress playing Sophie was nice enough. Sir Ian McKellen (did I spell his name right?) was excellent as usual...I just love him so much. Can't wait for him in X3...MAGNETO!!!

Still coughing abit...think I should start taking the cough syrup...I don't like unnecessary medicine, but I guess a little doesn't hurt. I mean, how often do I take medicine right?

I saw Mavis when I was crossing the street between Plaza Singapura and The MacDonald House! SO CHIAO can?!?!!? I didn't recognise her at first...it was so nice seeing again..wish it wasn't on a street, then can catch up abit. Hahaha...told Jun straight away lah...my usual practice.

Tmr going for Camp Comedy with Beth and her friends I think. I asked Max to join me...should be quite fun :)

Okok, I come back and blog abit more later...I wanna catch my Channel U show now. Heehee...

things are better...different, but better. ^_^

angry/sad/disappointed

Why you always like that ah?

I already say before liao...I hate it when you do that to me...but you INSIST on applying those fucked up techniques to me! You just don't get it do you? It hurts a lot you know? Why can't you just be straight with me? Very hard meh? Must every conversation be a super cool, and 'exciting' duel of superfluous terminology and excessive 'word slinging'?

You know that I sure lose one what...then you load the freaking program called, 'let-me-absolve-myself-of-guilt-and-tell-why-what-I'm-doing-is-GOOD-for-you', and try to get away with everything. Sometimes I don't even know why I let you do that...

This is the first time you have managed to annoy me SO MUCH... *bows* You are GOOD man...keep up the good work...go on your quest to take everyone down...kill everyone who actually cares about you....

I totally felt SO OPTIMALLY INTERACTED with last night...

THANKS!

Weekend abit 'buang'...

Was suppposed to go to Sentosa to tan, and Luge for the day last Saturday...but to our great sadness...IT RAINED! Sheesh...how 大便 is that can?!?!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

When the rain went away, we tried out the Luge lor....it was damn fun lah...but it was also the MOST expensive 10mins (Skyride + Luge downhill) I've ever experienced in my life. But not too bad lah

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Then we end the day with Sakae Sushi lor...fairly decadent lah...40 plates between 6 peeps...

===============================================================================================================

Sunday, was spent doing nothing much lah...the main event was sending my bro off at the airport...ppl going to Korea to represent SINGAPORE leh...so cool lor...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Got to wear the Republic's flag on his chest...think he actually very 'gian', then act cool...say 'it's ok lah...' I know he actually very very happy...ahahaha

See the 'mi mi yan'...hahaa ^_^

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
My bro on the right, and his friend Yong Sheng (hope I got the spelling right). I think Yong Sheng looks like a stocky, Asian version of Daniel Radcliffe (our dearest Harry Potter), don't you think so?

头痛,心痛
想太多,说不多

Chinese Poetry

I calculated my timings wrongly again, so I ended up at tuition SUPER EARLY. Like, 45mins early! Grrrrrrr...anyway, I was so bored, I actually took the time to write abit of poetry, in Chinese, no less! I basically used the template from a poem that I'd memorised since I was a boy, and just played with the words a little...here it is:

人家爱我我不理,

我若爱时没成绩,

为何两方没默契,

想来想去没福气

The last three words (in aquamarine) were suggested by one of my students, I mean it's not that 顺,but still okay lah. I'm quite pleased with my composition leh...hahaha. And yes, it is a reflection of my love life's current state...so boring...haiz...

Ah well, 慢慢来 I guess...加油喔!

MI: 3 and Ichiban Boshi

Yesterday and today were both spent in town. Tsk tsk tsk...$$$ slowly trickling away lo...要没有钱了。 Haha...anyway yesterday, I watched MI:3 with my friend. It was OKAAAY lah...somewhat uneventful, and full of cliches (I dunno how to get the accent on top of the 'e') and even Tom and Jonathan couldn't make it better. I did however enjoy the cake at Bakers' Inn though...so very Japanese lor...reminded me of this episode in CardCaptor Sakura where they were picking strawberries to make strawberry shortcake! Haha...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Here's a picture of the cake! Shared it...guilt should ALWAYS be shared...hahaha

Today, was dinner spent with Beth! We haven't caught up with each other for so long. I had a blast! You are still charming with your wit, and excellent company. *muacks* She brought me to her favourite Japanese restaurant, Ichiban Boshi. It's like Sakae Sushi, but in certain aspects maybe even better. I think they're almost on par, but since Beth is a frequent customer there, we enjoyed certain perks! Like how the entire meal only cost $4.30! They have this 'lucky-spin-the-wheel' thing...super cool and interesting.

I love my Makis, California and Futo! And Ichiban Boshi's are very good. Nice and full. The taste is nothing amazing, but you can see that it is more 'packed' than the average maki.

Nice fried chicken pieces. Not bad at all...came piping hot, complimentary of Beth's 'frequent eater miles'. ^_^

Pretty presentation. Salmon I think...with a single sprig of asparagus and spring onion. Yum!

Had good evenings the past two days. Not bad at all. Going to do more data entering now...sighness sia....

New Clothes, New Skill!

Old Clothes

New Clothes

The new clothes look a little too sexy for my liking actually. If you look at the previous outfit, I think you could call it more of an understated kinda sexy. The current one is practically anime-schoolgirl sexy lor...but I have no choice though. I seriously needed the health bonus granted my the new Canthan armour. So I bought what I felt was the best looking combination and dyed the entire lot silver. Not THAT bad right? Now when she dances, her butt-shaking is even more obvious than before...cos' the skirt is too short mah...haha. The rest of the guild thinks she's hot...the freaking horndogs...only have sex on their minds (but then again, who doesn't? ^_^)

Touch me lah! Now you'll kenna slap by me! "PIAK!"

Right in the kisser!

Yeah, this is my new Elite Skill, Starburst! Got 'star' inside (star, 星, 星键, Xing Jian...you get the picture...heh), so confirm good skill lah! It's a spell, but has no range...so you need to walk/run up to the enemy and touch them. I call it my 'magic slap'! Haha...all enemies in the area will get hit by it, and if more than ONE foe is struck I lose a measly 5 energy?!?!

Please lor...as an Elementalist I have tons of energy (82 to be exact..the average is 40-45) so that's usually a non-issue! And it's very nice when she's is slowed down by a Hex so she can't run...then it really looks like she 'gelek' (walk slowly, deliberately and sexily) up to the enemy, and 'PIAK' them in the face...dealing 119+ fire damage in the process...and of course...the starlight/burst effect is pretty too, no?

Off, everything is OFF!

Sighz...I've been a bad boy the past weekend. My willpower is off, my intergrity is off, my drive is off, my 'alot-of-the-important-things-that-should-be-done-machine' is off...so irritating can?

The only thing that's been ON is my gaming instinct. I cleared most of my missions for my GuildWars characters, hit level 20, bought new armour (that is oh so CHIO), captured new elite skills...sheesh.

Later going to bring Desmond to report for work. And I am going to own up to Teng Nging for not doing what I was supposed to do. Bad bad boy...need to make up for it this week. Maybe I should really do the work in school...at home really got distractions leh. But then again, should I give myself a challenge? Haiz...see how lah.

Talk later... ^_^

Audio Technica - BAGUS!!!

I know I just posted, but I just tried out my new earphones that I bought, and they're so good that I simply have to gush about them! My Shuffle's earphones sorta went crazy, so I've been using this pair of totally mismatching Sony earphones lah...this is the pair I bought:
Nice right? I bought the white one...I mean my Shuffle is white mah, so might as well get it right? They're called inner ear headphones...I used to diss them cos' I thought it was a little gross sticking these things so far into your ears that they'd actually touch your wax....yucks! But now that I've tried them...GAWD! The sound, I tell you.....whooowheeeeeee.....

Even on a low volume setting you can hear the sound lor...and I am NOT an audiophile and yet I am gushing about these noise-cancelling thing-a-ma-jigs...so they have to be some good right? I think I will never listen to music the same way again...in fact, I think I will never notice an approaching car as well! Hahahaha....

The entire package comes with 3 different sizes for the earphones, and also a little black pouch! Quite a lot of value added I think...I am SERIOUSLY impressed. :)

And the best part? The entire thing only cost $30! I mean compare that to our 'friends' who are more 'up-market'...not a bad deal at all. I am suitably impressed...now all that's left is to see if it stands up to the test of time...BUUUUUT then again hor...it has ONE (Y)EAR (yes, lame I know...couldn't resist...heh) WARRANTY leh! Another amazing thing man...so be sure to keep your receipts guys! ^_^

(whew, so ends my shameless promoting of my new INNER EAR HEADPHONES..oops...there I go again)

The Inertia Of It All.

Sitting in front of my desktop now...didn't know what to do, so decided to blog about today ( I mean YESTERDAY...I really should sleep earlier man). Anyway, I just finished doing more of my data entering...3hours worth...my eyes are killing me I think. I need some non-LCD/CRT visual soon...before my poor retinas burn away into oblivion. So on to my Saturday...

Woke up at 7am, supposed to go early to settle the voting thing...but it was raining, and the weather cool...so slept in lor...not even voting is more important than a night snooze in cool, rainy weather! Hah! Left the home at 8am and took a 5min stroll to the primary just next to my block. Mom was with me...and we talked rubbish and gushed about silly inconsequential things as we headed to put our pens to silly slips of paper.

I really do not feel anything about the GE lor...I know that I should be politically, or at the very least, be interested in it for GENERAL KNOWLEDGE...but I really cannot be bothered lah. I am a SHEEP...
(yes, everyone is allowed to go form your views on my political outlook, or lack there of, on situation in our fine island nation)

I told my mom two stories with slight political reference/commentry:

==========================================================================
Story 1:

I was in a cab, and the cabbie was chatty. I was feeling somewhat chatty too, so we did what two chatty people do when they're together...they chat. He started telling me about how business was exceptionally good on Friday night...(this was the weekend the Progress Package was issued). Basically, he feels that since the 'zeng hu'/'gahmen' (dialects for government) gave out the moolah that week, everyone come out and play lor...purse strings loose already what...

The way he said it was so funny lah...don't really know how to describe to you also...but I totally understood. He said business was almost akin to that on Christmas night, or that of any major public holiday.

==========================================================================
Story 2:

This story is Vincent tell me one...super farnie...

Vi's Grandma: 'Zeng hu' good what...they give us money leh... (this was said in an innocent, cheery voice)

Look on Vi's Mom's face = 'crap, she's talking again...she really shouldn't talk about these kinda things...especially to taxi drivers'

Vincent looks on at the proceedings with interest.

Taxi Driver: 'Zeng hu' give you money? 'Zeng hu' give you MONEY?!?! That money is OURS lor!

MWAHAHHAHA...poor Vi's grandma...nothing to say already.

==========================================================================

Anyway, back to my Saturday...I started tuition. This pair of Primary 6 girls...quite funny, but terrible English. I feel it's really a last minute thing, but after hearing how f***ed up their school teacher was...I felt obliged to give them at least a fighting chance.

How does a P6 child understand experiments if they've NEVER done them? Is not the entire point of studying Science to have hands-on experiences? And the teacher's excuse is that they have no time! He actually told them TO GO AND STUDY by THEMSELVES! Ridiculous!

Hopefully I can help them I guess...final year leh...and still don't know a thing.

After that I went to town to meet up with Leonard to jalan-jalan. We walked around aimlessly for about an hour and a half before we actually did some shopping. I bought myself a new pair of earphones, and Leonard bought this funky graphic tee. We spent more time bitching and talking rubbish lah...both of us not really in the mood for shopping..

Dinner was the highlight. He had been wanting to try this Japanese restaurant at Tiong Bahru Plaza, and since it was near my place (mwahahaha...I know I'm evil..but he's going back to hall anyway what!) I said let's go there and try it out. When we arrived, it was the only restaurant with NO queue...I thought to myself that Leonard must be crazy lor...eat at this kinda place. But since we already came all the way, just give it a try. 2 minutes after we were seated...there a substantial queue outside! At least 6 people man! Whew! So we were actually lucky lor...heh

This is some of the decor outside..nice Japanese-looking plants

There were some fairy lights which we both agreed seemed a little OFF...they were blinking too...haha
Some interestingly gross, yet nice funky beans. Not heavenly to taste, but yet compelling.

Anyway, we both ordered the Paper Pot thingy...you know, the one where the 'magic' paper pot does not seem to catch fire at all? I had a Salmon and Leonard had a Beef. Really not bad, and if you add a dollar, you get fried tofu, plus a free can of Coke. Not bad right? Oh! We dined al fresco somemore! Not bad leh...I was seriously impressed with the place lah...glad we tried it out.

Who wants to go? Next time I bring you there ok? Just let me know...hahhaa

That was my Saturday lor...later going to rush my data entry liao...so sianz....

Nitez.......

Naughty Boys!

So I was having tuition with my Taiwanese Primary 5 kid today. We were damn bored lah, and he couldn't concentrate at all on the English paper he was doing. So I suggested that we play Yu-gi-oh! Haha...I had built a different deck and was dying to try it out. I had intended to do it at the end of the lesson, but since he looked so BORED...play cards first lor.

So we were playing, and having a lot of fun. Halfway into our second game, the door suddenly shooked and rattled with the force of somebody turning a key and depressing the doorknob. It was a mad rush to keep our cards, we tried our best to look as calm as possible (we failed terribly...lol).

It was not Mrs Hu, but it was actually his older sister. Whew! She was cool, and though she didn't suspect anything at first. Ching Hao (the kid's nickname is Hao Hao..try saying it in a cutsy Taiwanese accent) was so tickled by how we had tried to clear up the evidence, he couldn't keep from laughing. In the end, he burst out laughing and told his sister what we had been doing just before she came back.

She's cool, and didn't tell on us. Damn farnie lah...like small kids like that.
(Correction...Hao Hao IS a small kid...I'm the weird one...heehee)

I'm turning into a 损友 (Chinese for friend who is bad influence)...

^_^

Work for the hols...and Mom's birthday.

Just started working with Teng Nging today. Helping her with the sorting and entering of data from surveys regarding Immunology or something. Spent the most part of the day organising the survey forms into respective schools and also in the order of each form's serial number. Tough man...eyes a little blurry now.

Well, working in Medicine Faculty is indeed different. I realised that the Medicine Library is SOOO different from the Central Library lah. It's very conducive for study one. I's EXTREMELY quiet, which is perfect for someone like me (I'm supposed to be what they call 'low-monitoring'...which is supposed to mean that I have a low threshold for noise/distractions)

Well, I expect to be busy with this data entry job for the good part of May...at $7/hr, it's not too bad I guess. Thanks Teng Nging for the offer!

Going to get back to work...finished sorting liao, so now must do data entry lor...sighz....WARGH!!!
========================================================================
Yesterday was LABOUR DAY right? My mom's birthday! We visited the Istana...it was very VERY interesting! SO many things are so different in the place lor...the grounds were super super nice too...golf course, a huge variety of flowers and large open spaces. Here are some pictures!

The gates to the main grounds. Old and rustic. ^_^

My uncle said this, "Charity starts at The Istana" LOL...

There you go...The Istana!

One of the MANY other flowers inside. ( I put this one cos' I feel it's the nicest flower pic that I took :))

Queen Victoria...poor gal relegated to some obscure corner of the grouds. Haha

Picking this conversation:

Me: Look! It's Queen Victoria!

Mom: Why is her noce brown...

Me: Dunno.

Mom: Do you think it's from insects?

Me: Aiyah, I know already! She never do her THREE-STEP! Hahaha.

I think is the first reflection of Singapure and it's CMIO (Chinese, Malay, Indian & Others).

========================================================================

After our 'adventure', we went to 老北京食堂, which I've always learnt!!! I bought Mom that meanl sia..lol
