As usual Vincent was late, but we all forgave him and started on the fairly long trek to the suspension bridge.
As we walked through MacRitchie, I realised that it had been such a long time since I last visited this place (last time was during Sec4 I think...cross-country). There are really sooo many things to see, and the trees and everything. The rainforest is truly a beautiful place. There were many animals like squirrels, monkeys, and terrapins/turtles too! Super 'nature' kinda of feeling sia...
On the left is Amos and James (their backs at least), and on the right you see (from right), Vincent, Aiman and half of me! Haha...this part was still in the main part of the forest, so we're all just hiking through the forest, looking at the fauna and trading stories about days in the Army when we had to go through training in the jungle. I guess, some things about Singaporean guys is that no matter who we are, and what we did/do, we can always ALWAYS talk about our NS experience...and we can do it over, and over, and over, and OVER again...wahahahaha. It's a scourge upon all Singaporean women that cannot be removed! They are doomed to listen to these stories as long as they continue to have male Singaporean friends. Heh.
So after about an hour on foot, we have a 'light-at-the-end-of-the-passage' moment as we exit the forest, and walk on abit of road before reaching the suspension bridge! Excitement sia! Finally reached the bridge! Hahaa.... ^_^
This woman did the most Singaporean thing...she saw us sitting around waiting, and she asked, "Excuse me, is there a QUEUE?" All the five of us did our best to keep from laughing...it was just so funny man. First thing that comes to Singaporeans' minds is to queue for something...hahaha.
So we get on the bridge, and sorta hog the center bit for awhile (to the displeasure of a few people), enjoying the view and breathing in the fresh air. There we shared sandwiches (b[r]ought by Vincent) and brownies (baked by yours truly), and took more pictures...truly touristy to the max. Haha.
We finally moved off the bridge and finished the rest of the trek, another 5km back to the main MacRitchie Reservoir, so that makes the entire thing around 10km worth of walking! Hahaha...so healthsome man. Heh. On the way back, we met alot of disgruntled children, and sari-wearing women, and back-packing backpack carrying men. Just some of the strange sights you can find in MacRitchie. Haha...
Oh! There was this group of guys who absolutely refused to help us take a picture! And they outright ignored us and pretended that they did not just hear a group of 5 guys ask them for a favour...Singaporeans amaze me more and more each day man...hahaha.
Here are some photos of the day!
Pretty no? The reservoir is so peaceful and pretty here. Tranquil and full of life...ZEN...
What most of us were thinking by the time we reached the suspension bridge...we're all a bunch of pansies lah...walk abit then complain complain...hahaha... ^_^
This sign says alot...I'm serious! Hahaha...
On the bridge, hogging the space, eating, photo-whoring and basically enjoying ourselves!
Taken from the bridge...scary...
Nice stream...so chio, don't you think?
I think his EX-girlfriend is in the the bag, and he's looking for a place to stash the body...creepy...
This amazing woman walked the entire way in her sari...the guys and I really ARE WUSSES man...hahaha
A Secret Garden moment....
