Let's see, what did I do this year. Day One was spent doing the usual visiting to both grandparents' place. Dad's parents in the late morning for an early lunch with that side of the family. I usually see these relatives once a year only, and every year we have a blast. There are very specific means of address for each member of the family.
We usually refer to them by the last character of their names, or the numerical position in which they are born. Strange, but traditional. There is this one particular aunt who everyone hates. And every year the rest of family gets together to secretly bitch about the poor sob. She is this crazy woman who seems slightly bipolar and always makes inane or insensitive comments to members of the family. Here are some examples:
(to my Mom)
"Wah, this year never lose weight again ah?"
(to my very attractive cousin who has blossomed into a fine young woman)
"Aiyo, girl cannot wear like that! Must cover up! *rushes to button a cardigan that is obvious NOT meant to be buttoned up* How can like that? So indecent!"
She's very insensitive lah..annoying bitch. This year, my cousins and I were trying these pineapple tarts that were made my my grandma's Malay neighbour. A very sweet esture, but sadly, the tarts were slightly...umm...pasty? The pastry was too thick and felt somewhat sandy and hard to chew. Basically, you put one in your mouth and you basically have to shut up and focus on chewing the tart. My cousin was saying how it was like sand, then later it will turn to mud and finally, very sticky Blu-Tack. Hahaha...
Then we were very evilly suggested giving one to that bipolar aunt to shut her up. ^_^
Later at night was at my Mom's parents place, my own home base lah...so nothing too special about that. Everyone gathered for food and drink and Grandpa was happy to be surounded by family. Yay!
Second day was spent with friends! Went to Johnathan's place to chill out, and then later to Lionel's place to gamble! Hah! I had pretty good luck this year man. Vincent said that the Rat has a good year this year...so I tried my luck at Blackjack...and true enough...
Ban Ban! There sia! Freaking cool lor...I guess it's also because I hardly gamble, so the luck accumulates? Maybe hor? Hahahaha... After everything, was clubbing at night with the guys, and supper and then home at 5 am! Gosh...freaking tired sia...Well, that about sums up my CNY Day One and Day Two. After that, I've been trying to study for the past few days lor....TRYING being the operative word of course. Sighz....mid-terms are coming and I've done nothing! Boohoo! Essays to complete somemore...grrrrrr...DUNCH LIKE IT ONE BIT.
Okay! Time for my movie screening liao...Much Ado About Nothing...
