term break? NOT!

Well, let's begin by announcing (i.e. bitching) that my term break has started! Woohoo! Isn't it wonderful how everyone (in this case my IHL - Institute of Higher Learning) is getting more and more ingenious? I mean, in a bid to be able to claim that they DO give their students a FIVE DAY term break, they happily announce to the student body that the term break starts on SUNDAY (WTF?! a Sunday? Aren't Sundays already rest days by themselves?) and ends on Thursday! So if you count them, technically it IS a five-day break. Just splendid don't you think?

BAH!!! Balderdash! Absolutely poppy-cock!

Anyway, whatever it is, the term break is not really a break anyhow. It's for us to catch up with lost time, especially with regards to our schoolwork. This time is usually lost due to a various reasons. Here are some of the reasons or excuses we give ourselves:

1) Aiyah, I have the term break to finish it lah.
2) But I'm tired!
3) But I did so much work already (ploughing through a 5-page reading whilst blogging is NOT 'so much work')!
4) There's still time.
5) Come on...it's the weekend, give me a break!
6) "Okay, I will start work at 10pm!", you shout to Mom. (SHIT! That bloody red dragon is roasting my team and I can barely keep them alive with my mediocre healing spells and limited mana pool...I'm a sucky monk man...fuck...LAG!)
7) Any home equipped with any of the following is in grave danger of being a NON-CONDUCIVE environment for any academic pursuit:

~Television
~Personal computer with relatively adequate gaming abilities
~An Internet connection (broadband is comparatively more dangerous then dial-up, but both can be lethal. Oh IMHO, StarHub prolly won't get you killed as fast...)
~A bed.
~Sony Playstation 2 (or any other video game console that you still enjoy playing)
~Telephone. (with the existence of mobile phones, actually NOWHERE is conducive anymore.)

Sigh, sure is demoralising how difficult it is to find a good place to pursue academics don't you think? Anyhow, I think the library is still the perfect place. Just camp (preferably with 1-2 frens for added moral support. Try to pick the relatively boring and hardworking friends, if not even the library will fail you) there and everything should fall into place.
