MY CHANCE! (I can take the time Jo's blinded by the camera flash to blow out the candles myself! Mwahaha!)

I so wanna blow out the candles, but what would Jo-Lin say? Should let her blow out the candles lah...(but I totally wanna do it...argh)

This is the happy couple...aww...so sweet yeah?

Nice cake? This is Bronson and Jo-Lin's birthday cake. Their birthdays were close enough, so celebrate together lor...great party. Nice food, jolly people...excellent music...haha Great Cake!

TCC Journal Entry 1

Okay...I will finally post what I said I would 2 posts ago. My journal entries from TCC, here goes!

Day1

A Letter to Myself

I am stopped by the main need to always have to "get something" out of whatever I do. I must always be able to see the end product before I commit myself to any undertaking. Whether or not there actually is a good result/product is secondary, I MUST be able to see it, if not I won't do it. In this way, I am rarely fair to myself or the undertaking.

I am also stopped by my need to please/not disappoint others. If I meet with an issue that would compromise my image of myself in the views of my superiors/peers/loved ones etc., I would not do it. Or if I THINK it would do that, I would not do it. When it comes to these kinds of situations, I never think about what I want to do, but rather, what others will think of me.

I have learnt that I have constructed an excellent mask, that, in tandem with my strengths/weaknesses, allows me to function perfectly/flawlessly in my area of work. It is so effective, that I am almost tempted to live in it permanently, to not even acknowledge it as a mask and forever graft it into my face. If I likened my life to a cupboard, and if I made the conscious decision to hang up the mask, I could not do that. At least, not until I clear out all the skeletons hanging there; which is why I have to leave the mask on. These skeletons would ber the shit I have accumulated over the years. Fears, many fears...of rejection, of solitude namely.

Everyday, you would have to strap on a happy mask and listen to people come and tell you about their problems. You try to listen to all the people coming to you, but it is endless. You just cannot complete it. You cannot tell them to leave cos' you're wearing the mask, it's part of the deal. You'll have to be perpetually cheery and responsible. Basically a "goody-two-shoes" and a "yes" man. It's stifling when you actually feel frustrated with work and yet have to act like all is okay.

There is a good side to this. When you actually manage to help people, or you see that they have benefitted from you listening to them, it does make you feel good. There are days when you question why you do this, but then you quickly set it aside and return to the comfort of the mask and its talents.

I have managed to see, very clearly, on of my biggest knots/POS(pieces of shit) within myself, and at least now, I've come to acknowledge its magnitude. I've always recognised it's presence, but not it's sheer size! And it's scary.

-End-

That was my first journal entry...two more to go...watch for them!!! ^_^

Glimpse into yourself...

I finished TCC last week. It was good...really. I do not regret taking it up. It has given me great insight and peace. I now look at myself through this magnifying glass and can see myself all the clearer. I will be posting up excerpts from my experience at TCC, and I hope my friends will begin to get what I went through.

To all my friends who keep asking me what it was like...I tell you that I really do not know how to explain it to you. For all my language skills and vocabulary, it really is beyond words. At least, the words I would choose would make you laugh...haha. If you really want to know, just give me a call, and I can bring you down to a preview...no strings, so promises. I will PROTECT you if that's what you are afraid of...that is my promise to you. Actually, the choice has to be made by you, but I will be shield you from all pressures you think you may experience (which you won't!) at a preview.

Until my next post, I want to thank all my new found friends for all the support you have given me with regards to my choosing to take this up for myself.

ok ok...i decided to take the leap of faith.

Tomorrow, I will be embarking on TCC. The Courage to Create. May the course give me valuable insights and may it be worth the S$1488 I spent on it! Cheers to self-discovery and a new me... ^_^

self discovery...

One's self is a thing most important. You cannot really truely live your life without knowing yourself. I think I need to start trying to find out more about what I AM all about. If not, I'm going to find it difficult to make any real progress in my life. I went for an interesting preview yesterday evening. It's for this course called The Courage to Create (TCC).

I would first like to thank Mish for making go for this preview, it was most enlightening. And to be honest, I found the company wonderful...everyone was sincere and truth, and shared from their hearts. It was about learning to find it in yourself to take leaps of faith...cos in general, we, as people seldom do that. So they talked about learning to take a leap of faith and do something for myself, to creat something...to destroy my comfort zone, all for the low, low price of S$1488.

I really appreciate and really did gain from the preview...but sadly to say, the issue of money is really a gigantic barrier for me. In all sense of practically, and the current assessment of my financial situation, I cannot afford this course...sorry Mish. I mean, I can see the tangible benefits in you, and in all the people in TCC, but I am not going to do it now. Maybe later? Maybe...

That aside, let's talk about work... I finally planned my leave schedule (thank the heavens!). I will work towards handing all my stuff over to my boss, and hopefully, he'll survive with the extra work. So this long period of rest, I will be preparing for my school in NUS...get new comp, pack up my room, blah blah...that kinda thing...that will require time and money...so sad, both of which I have so little of...haiz.

Anyhow, will be going down for Isetan private sales later...anyone wanna join me? The offer's good till 1800hrs, after that I won't be around anymore..heh...yeah...

My branch...most of whom are going to ORD liao!!! I'm happy for them! Some are happy, most are not...but, at least the inevitable fact is that we will all ORD eventually! ^_^ CHeers!!! Posted by Hello

the things i do for the Army...sigh

Can you actually believe that I'm in camp now? I went back to camp after my short day out with Michele. We had a bit of a walk-a-bout around Queensway Shopping Centre and Ikea, then stopped for cheesecake and Swedish meatballs at the cafe.

Then we headed down to Orchard for more walk-a-bout. It's been a long while since I've been out shopping with a girl, and boy, was I out of practice..haha. I had to endure a few 'changes of a mind', and of course, the fabled walk through the lingerie section of Tangs departmental store. It wasn't too bad, but I still got strange looks from the salespeople at the section. Mish, you should be glad you ahve a friend willing to walk through a lingerie section, and a guy at that.

Anyway, I'm now in camp. I returned to look for an application which I was supposed to have sent, but I really have no impression that I did. I'm definitely screwed, so yah...too bad for me. I will just have to explain to the poor chap I did not send the bloody thing out for processing lor...too bad...bah.

I should just begin to treat myself better I guess. No, not shirk responsibility, just be treat myself better lah...must learn to adopt a 'fuck lah' attitude towards certain things/people. Yeah...must stick to my mantra - It's 2005, ORD lor! ^_^

We may look unhappy, but we really aren't. First Class is a doozy..and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sorry about the buck teeth...didn't realise I was biting my lips...haha...HOme Sweet Home! Posted by Hello

Everyone waiting to get on the plane home! So excited, so happy! I get to fly first class too! Mwahaha! Posted by Hello

The famed Taipei101...a shopper's dream. Must be armed with a credit card with a hefty credit limit though...if not sure cannot last. Think of it as Takashimaya X 4 = Taipei101. Posted by Hello

This is the TRTS, their version of the MRT. Everyone is very polite and follows instructions so that everyone can actually get on/off in time. Most impressive, really...can't say the same for Singaporeans..sheesh. Is keeping to one side of the escalator really that difficult? Posted by Hello

Meng took this using his 6260...one of the few times he's willing to twist the bloody thing..haha. Calvin is looking very bored don't u think? Posted by Hello

Same clothes is UNFORGIVABLE, but same spectacles still can accept..haha Posted by Hello

Second day of R&R and already a fashion faux pas...never EVER be caught wearing the same clothes as someone else..how embarrassing! I was crushed first thing in the morning...ugh... Posted by Hello

My wonderful tour guide. Her name if Nori/Xiao Juan. Friendliest tour guide I've ever met...bubbly and jumping all over the place...very happy person. Posted by Hello

off is good... *smilez*

It's been awhile since I last posted anything yeah? Well, I've been enjoying my nice long break after my Taiwan trip...(aah..it feels good typing on my keyboard again, Taiwanese keyboards suck, they're gym for your fingers man...must really mash the keys before anything comes out..haha)

Anyway, I've been just relaxing at home and doing nothing in particular. I did abit of catching up with some of my old friends like Xiaomin when I went down to NUS to do my medical checkup. I did however skip the Echo wing gathering...lazy lor...very bad of me actually...ah well.

I've decided that I will want to get my own desktop so that I can have something of my own to use instead of sharing with my bro...I mean I'm starting University soon, so why not right? Own room = own computer yah? Ok, ok...it's not the best reasoning, but it's all I've got working for me right now, so give me a break..sheesh.

I'll try to post some pics from my Taiwan trip up here yeah? There's something wrong with my iPod Shuffle, my comp can't seem to detect it...it started acting up in Taiwan, and still acting the same way even though we're back in Singapore already. Anyhow, supposed to go back to camp today to try to do some work, but I decided not to in the end...can't be bothered lah. I still have quite a few things to follow up and I haven't even started planning my leave/off yet...I think I'm too 'garang' (means 'on the ball', 'enthusiastic' that kinda thing) And Paul and Nicholas agree as well...I should learn to treat myself better.

Okay, I'll stop now and go and try to sort out my Shuffle, hopefully I can get it to work properly...yeah

ciaoz

ending soon...yay!

Recovering from a illness is the worst thing ever. Having no voice, with no sore throat is weird. Green phelgm and mucus but no fever...how bizarre. I seem to be suffering from some half-baked illness that chooses to just pester me incessantly and yet refuse to strike me a devastating blow...it is almost like it knows that to pester is a worst fate than letting me rest fulltime in the sickbay.

Anyway, thanks to my wonderful Medical Officer, I'm ono my way to recovery. R & R is tomorrow and I seriously hope nothing cocks up. It is a great feeling knowing that by the week's end I'll be back in Singapore, my home. Yes, I do miss it...and all the wonderful friends and things that come along with it. I'm glad I'm going home soon. The past few days have been hell...I was running all over the place when I should have been resting in bunk...as such, I made no improvement. But that couldn't be helped...I mean, some things only I knowq how to do, so how do I task someone else to do it? Not possible...

On the bright side, I will be flying back to Singapore First Class this time round...I've never sat in First Class before...haha...should be a blast. Perks of being an officer..hee... *cough*

Whoa, a lot of phelgm...ugh... Okay, I should stop grossing people out...I hope I improve by the time we hit Taipei, so that at least I can enjoy my trip there...so many things to buy for so many people...dunno where to start though...

Okay lah, see everyone back home! Ciaoz!

Smoke+ninja bombs = freedom for 4 days

toiling through an exercise for the past three days have been terrible for me...had to climb this continuous stretch of mountain tracks for a good 16-20km, and even then it wasn't enough. then had to do a stupid day attack (not that i fought), but it was stupid nonetheless. I mean, who does an attack in the middle of the day which results in numerous soldiers falling out due to the noon day heat (guess that's why it's called EX HIGHNOON, sheesh). As I have been saying the past few days, the entire thing was a FWOT (Fucking Waste Of Time)!!!

anyhow, i have escaped the terrible fate of 4 more days of boredom doing impractical things by saying that i have important things like inbound flight stuff to do. ok ok, a few half-truths here and there eventually allowed me to power my way to an excuse to skip the rest of the exercise. it's crap anyway, and i'm glad that i'll be done with it soon. in less than a week's time, the entire battalion will be on R & R and everyone will be happy... i'm quite looking forward to this trip and i hope nothing will ruin it for us.

there have been talks of social/political unrest in Taipei, but i really hope Taipei holds it together and comes through for us lor...if not it will be too sad man... the men have been here for TOO long for something like political unrest to spoil their entire trip here. Already, the exercise is pissing everyone off, so please Taipei, hold it together!

now i will go and enjoy the rest of my evening...seeya

too much time...

here in Taiwan, you only have to pay NT$10 to get half-an-hour of Internet time. anyway, I was thinking of using only NT$10, but now I've just plonked in my second NT$10 coin, so more time to talk rubbish and such.

To be absolutely honest, this isn't the most appropriate place to blog. There are too many people staring over your shoulder, and usually you just feel uncomfortable an everything. Most of the Battalion and going crazy over retro games of the past like Diablo2 and Warcraft3. Not the newest titles, but good enough for a crumbling old camp in the southern most part of Taiwan..haha

anyway, I'm waiting for a debrief to end so that I can get on with more admin work which I have yet to complete. I still need to complete my planning for the Battalion's R&R planning, so that everyone can be happy and everything. My fingers are quite cold now (they keep on missing the keys..so watch out for a typo filled entry today)..brrh...

Last night, went for a nights-off to a nearby town...totally boring and uneventful. Some of the others patronised a strip club, and realised one of the strippers looked alot like one of our friends (he's been getting flak the whole morning)..haha...I realised that you can really only visit that place only once in your entire life...anyway, I'm waiting for Taipei to do some proper retail therapy...heh

okay, think i'll go send out some email to those who have yet to realise I have a blog...ciaoz

First Post after ATEC.

Finally managed to post something...I've been wanting to use the Internet after ATEC for so long, but just never got the chance. It was a fast three days in the field, but finally got through it. My birthday wasn't too bad...my fellow officers bought a cake and celebrated for me. Like I was seriously touche by the gesture man. It really came as a surprise. THANKS GUYS!!! All of you are really the best!

Anyway, now I'm just waiting for the next exercise to start lor, then I can almost call it a day already, haha. Can't wait to get back to Singapore and see all my friends. Really miss my mom, brother, dad...everyone.

~ Jeff-> must play deck when I come back ok? Really miss playing deck, and stuck in camp all day long is too sian...haha. What do you want from Taiwan? SMS me yah?

~ Jianhong -> what did you want me to buy again? SMS me soon k? Need to know which brand and type of liquor.

~ Paul -> hope you had an eventful 21st as well, wish I could have been in Singapore to celebrate it with you. Go out when I get back from Taiwan. Will Nic still be around?

Seeya all soon! 17 more days to end of ROC training! Woohoo!

Birthday in Taiwan...

Good morning peeps!!! I'm now in Taiwan, using this terminal which is in Chinese. Lucky it's not that counter-intuitive, so I can still find my way around the programs. Anyway, it's my birthday today and it's totally sucky that I'm here...but I guess I can't complain too much.

The past few days have been crazy for me. Even though I didn't have to go outfield, I still had to assist in doing up all the administrative stuff, like planning for the flight back to Singapore and the end of trip R & R. Quite crazy... At the same time, I still had to help my boss prepare things for ATEC. All the S1 cell thingies...

Anyway, I only have 20mins left (you need to pay NT$10 for only half and hour of Internet usage), so I'm going to carry on and enjoy what's left of it. I haven't spent that much yet, somehow, I think I won't be spending that much.

Thanks everyone who have wished me Happy Birthday already, really appreciate knowing that you remember it's my birthday!!! ^_^

final post before departure...

Now slacking around in my grandparents' place again. I came down this morning to collect a shirt that I felt would match my bottoms best for the trip tomorrow morning (I'm such a vainpot man..) and of course, with this being one of the few places I have Internet, I would definitely have to log-on right? Haha...

Anyway, I'm supposed to go back to camp later to pick somemore documents which I had overlooked and really need to bring up to Taiwan. My packing is totally not done, so that's super crap. I think this is one of the few times I'm like so dis-organised (disappointed with myself). At this point in time, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that nothing will go wrong, continually trusting that everyone I instructed to pass info to have done so, and that there won't be people forgetting to turn up at the airport or anything of the sort.

I am still pretty miffed about this entire Taiwan trip, mostly because I think it 'burned' my 21st birthday...I mean, it's just so monumentously crappy to spend your 21st in some banged up camp in ROC. Ugh, just makes me fume thinking about it. Of course I wasn't going to have some gigantic party or anything, but at least I would have like to be in the company of friends. Not that my camp mates are bad company, but I would like to be with my other friends as well. Well, I guess there's no real point crying over spilt milk, I mean, I knew this was going to happen from the start, so I really should stop bitching about it...(maybe a little more lah..haha)

Kit Loong called me yesterday. He was expecting me to fly off at the same time as him, 12 Apr, but I told him I was leaving on Tues. He was shocked, he thought to organise a little get together for me or something (super nice of him), but alas, that will never come to pass. He said he got Kar Meng and myself lugguage tags to use for our trip, but I doubt he'll be able to pass them to us. Thanks anyway Kit! Oh, talking about yesterday, remember Mish asked me out to dinner? Well, that terrible woman cancelled on me last minute! The nerve! I mean you spend so much effort needling me into going for dinner with you, then you last minute tell me you cannot...woman, cannot like that lah. I travel all the way to Tanah Merah, then you sudden;y tell me you have a meeting and have to cancel...can you imagine how I felt? Like I was totally played for a fool you know. You better make good on that promise of a good dinner when I return from Taiwan.

I still haven't finished my boss' homework, the silly war bulletin thingy. I was supposed to do three, but I only did up one. Wonder what will he say, but seriously, I don't really care. These kind of thing can be done over there. I mean, how in the world do I report on something which hasn't even happened yet? Impossible...will go back to camp later and see what he says.

Tonight, Jianhong said he would 'ton' (spend the night) with me in the airport. He said he would try to see if Cai's place was available, cos' it's near to the airport, but if cannot, then will just 'ton' with me lor...so nice of him right? You're the BEST, Hong! Haha...Mr Sim is truly generous with his time, I applaud him!!! (Standing ovation please... *grinz*) Later, I've still got to go and get my hair cut, and have dinner with Mom and dress up and head to the airport. So many things to do, and so little time.

Okay, I think I should more or less stop already. Let me say goodbye to all my friends/family:

1. Paul & Nic - thanks for the dinner/company that night, it was really good meeting up and stuff, miss you loads.

2. Mish, Xiaomin, Jianping - sorry if I haven't been the best friend to you guys, will make it up to you when I get back ok? Promise.

3. Rusty, Kel & Ian (and Jospeh too) - thanks for being the best juniors anyone could wish for.

~Russ, thanks for organising the wonderful lunch yesterday so that all of us could get together. ~Ian, sorry I can't see you toss your cap, but I'll pray for you. Don't worry about your posting, you'll do fine in everything, I know you will.
~Kel, sorry never ever contact you for so long, but it was really good seeing you again. Take care!
~Joseph, even though you didn't come for the lunch, it's ok. Would have like to see you though, hope you're doing well.

4. Jianhong - thanks for being so nice and agreeing to accompany me in the airport tonight. Take care, and we'll meet up when I get back okay?

5. Jeff/Michael - sorry didn't meet up with you guys this week to play deck, esp Jeff. I will miss you both dearly. Really glad I got to know you two. Really great buddies. Take really good care of each other and yourselves ok? I'll be back soon, then we can get together and play deck again.

6. Mom - thanks for always being there for me, and doing all the little things which I usually forget or am too lazy to do. Thanks for all the advice and the love you have given to me. Love you Mom! *hugs*

7. L'il Bro - please be good and continue to study hard ok? Important year for you, but I know you'll be fine. See you soon!

8. To anyone I missed out - sorry if I missed you out, but please feel free to drop me an SMS/call, and scold the hell out of me ok? I'll be here to take your scolding. Love you too! *grinz*

Okay, people...Taiwan, here I come! Be back in Singapore in about a month's time. Pray for me.

Ciaoz...

rusty's place

I'm now in Russell's place...had lunch, watched Shutter (much better than my previous show), and tried to get some work done. Alas, didn't do too much lah...

Mish called...going to meet her for dinner later, she happened to be in the East and she seemed so insistent on meeting up...so I thought, what the heck...

I guess I have been neglecting her, Xiaomin and Jianping...she's with this huge of other people whom I totally dunno, but I don't think it'll be too bad. Let my Arian personality shine through and work it's magic...hasn't failed yet.

Okay, gotta go nhow, will post pics of my lunch at Russ' place soon, and hopefully before I go up to Taiwan...heh.

pigging out and a sucky movie...

After spending the day in office with my boss, I headed down to Suntec to meet up with Paul & Nicholas for a splendid dinner at Pearl River Restaurant... at $40 per pax...it was pretty ok. Nic had this obsession with the soon hock there...he insisted on eating at least 5 of them, but in the end, we had around 3 I think. but other than that, we stuffed ourselves silly with other fish dishes...Nic said we must eat our money's worth mah...haha, typical Nic. It was good to see Nic again, he's back for the Easter hols, so a good 4-5 week break I think, super 'hor mia' (good life in Hokkien) in my opinion.

I left to meet up with Cal and Quan at Wheelock after dinner. We met to watch The Eye 10...and it turned out to be the biggest waste of money ever. It was one big joke I tell you. Imagine a whole cinema laughing their heads off...sheesh. We paid $8.50, but I think it was only worth around $4.00 I'm now at grandparents' place using the Internet and stuff. I'm actually supposed to be doing up this War Bulletin for my S1, but I'm totally blowing it off, and just blogging, downloading stuff, and chatting on MSN. Haha...don't care lah, will get around to it later.

Oh, I stopped by this 2nd-hand book sale just outside NTUC FairPrice Bukit Merah, and I picked up 3 books for only $14.

~ Magician: Apprentice by Raymond E. Feist
~ The Voyage of Jerle Shannara Bks 2 & 3 by Terry Brooks (I just need to go and find Bk 1)

A steal man...my recreation for Taiwan is settled liao, so I just need to decide whether or not to bring my Magic there, prolly not cos' I don't think anyone will be playing with me lah...

Ah well...2 more days to Taiwan...and I think I forgot to bring certain things up with me..shit, have to go back and get them from office..ugh

This is me, being silly...that's all... ^_^ Posted by Hello

Cal & Quan are happy here...we're about to watch "Jian Gui 10"...unfortunately, we were informed that it was the worst horror comedy ever...WTF... Posted by Hello

of leather shoes and alcohol...

Last night was the final OFFICIAL working night for the Battalion. Everyone had booked out to enjoy their super long weekend and to prepare for their trip to Taiwan. Exciting stuff. I was a little annoyed though, when I began to hear people at the company lines saying that they needed to buy leather shoes to wear to the airport.

When I asked where had they heard this instruction from, they all told me RSM. I was like, "WTF?!" Didn't these people go for the briefing? I mean, the official stand is 'covered footwear', nothing else. So what if some people would look funny in pants & track shoes (I wouldn't be caught dead in such a get-up, but that's besides that point). Why would you want to force people to spend unnecessary money on such a trip? It totally doesn't make sense. And to anyhow issue instructions without prior consultation is totally unacceptable...ugh... Anyhow, the problem is cleared up already...I WON...ha

Apart from the issue on shoes, we also had a Mess Initiation for our officers who had yet to been initiated. It was a generally happy event, with the initiatees getting dead drunk, and puking all over that shop. I felt bad for the messboys, cos they had to clean up after us. I also had the to experience a close encounter with my friend Terence Tan (PNR PC). I think after last night, I feel so much closer to the little shit. He was so dead drunk that he was slurring and salivating all over his friends. I was helping Kang Li bring him back to his office, and he just could not co-operate properly.

Being the loudest drunk, he kept talking nonsense and all that shit. When we tried to bathe him and get him clothed, he just kept trying to leg-sweep me. I got so annoyed that I picked him up and piggy-backed him to his office. It was not over yet, he kept retching and drooling. My hand had never wiped the mouth of a guy before. It was a strange experience; strange and extremely awkward. Soon after my hand decided that it could no longer absorb any more of his saliva.

He took the cake when he could not get to the bucket we provided for his puke, and he happily deposited his dinner onto my crotch. Sadly, everything I was wearing last night belonged to my brother (sorry bro!!!). Well, that was an exciting night...haha.. (btw, this Terence I'm talking about is not the Terence who's blog is linked to mine)

Anyway, it was fun taking care of you babe...never felt so motherly in my entire life..haha... hope your hangover will pass soon. You did seem fine this morning when I went to visit you...yeah... I can't wait when Weiquan uploads the videos from last night man. The other initiatees were just as drunk as dear Ter, but since I was Mom to him for a night I don't know how the others fared. From what I heard, not much better...haha

You guys are very lucky cos' we were all here to take care of you all. Undress, bathe, clothe and tuck into bed...where else can you find such great buddies? All of you better go and give your 'Moms' from last night a big Thank You.

ciaoz...

untitled 2...

Jianhong came back to claim his pink IC. I had the honour of presenting it to him. It was a poignant moment; knowing that he would hardly ever come back to visit us. Anyway, I was happy for him and yet sad to see him go. Ah well...good luck to Mr Frank Gordon Sim Jianhong. Take care Hong, and may all my blessings and my best wishes go with you.

Bronson is back this week (actually he came back last week liao lah), it's really good to have him back man. His car is super cool lor...DVD player, with touch screen and the works. The freaking bass is amazing... thump thump thump...impressive man.

okay, now going to help my S3 branch people with their work...sianz man...

leaving for Taiwan soon...sadness...

I'm leaving for Taiwan at the end of the month liao. Totally not looking forward to it. Really wish I wasn't going. I think it has alot to do with spending my birthday in a foreign land, away from my friends and family. My 21st somemore...sadness

Now in my grandpa's place (the only place where I have Internet access), posting this entry. I think I'll be heading down to Suntec City later. There's the MTG Grand Prix going on now, and Jeff wanted me to accompany him to go. He's alone there now, so I feel a little bad, since I did promise him and then keep trying to avoid the appointment. Sorry Jeff...I'm coming down to meet once I'm done with this post...very fast wan...

I'm supposed to send my kit bag in on Monday afternoon, and I totally haven't packed yet...my goodness...I hate packing for overseas trips such as these.

Jianhong ORDs today...happy for him man. That day he came back, but the bugger had no uniform, so couldn't take part in the photo-taking. It was a little annoying cos' everyone forgot about the DYs, so we had to slot ourselves into whatever available space there was...quite annoyed, but there were too many 'senior' people, so who are we to complain...bleah.

anyway, when we all ORD, I think the HQ will collapse. Can you imagine a HQ with no DYS1 or DYS3? My gawd...that would be devastating...

I went to activate my Pay-as-u-Roam yesterday. The guy at the counter was such a bitch...couldn't believe someone like that was working for SingTel. My impression of the staff has always been excellent, and to think he looked quite senior also. Totally disappointing. Anyhow, he was a freaking trans I think, my mom insists that he had had boobs (like the fake ones), but he had them removed...haha...trust my mom to come up with such scathing and unforgiving comments like that. I think the poor guy was twitching the whole way man...haha

Okay lah, I'm going to meet Jeff liao...and I hafta update my Shuffle as well. Spent about $91 at the AppleCentre yesterday on accessories (I'm such a spendthrift...ugh...)

Ciaoz people!

untitled...

I must be damn tired. I just realised that I posted two posts which basically said the same thing...sheesh.

It's like not proofreading your email and then sending it out. Sigh...

I wanted to take off on Thursday, so that can go and play deck with Jeff, but my boss wants me to cover safety for this exercise he's conducting...so cannot liao lor...was looking forward to it somemore...sigh..

going to Taiwan soon...hope will enjoy myself there...yeah

~marching on~

Just finished a long route march through the night. Very tired...ugh...

tried to get some sleep, but kept getting calls from the office. Decided to come back and settle the annoying buggers before getting some rest.

To add to everything, DO today somemore...luckily got Weiquan to stand-in for me. Thanks Quan!!! ^_^ really appreciate it...you're the best.

I think I'm going to have lunch, then going to sleep liao...can't stand it already. Will try to delegate my work for today. Yeah...

Seeya...

~route march...don't like~

Just came back from a long route march all our famous training locations. Up and down, up and down...left right, left right... then up and down again.

the last time i walk these areas was when i was in OCS. Brought back memories, happy ones..haha

I tried sleeping this morning, but so many people kept calling me. I got so fed up that I decided to dress up and go and try to settle all my stuff. Now, I'm waiting for lunch, then I will eat, and then go and sleep. Supposed to be BDO today, but lucky got Weiquan stand in for me. Really appreciate it Quan... ^_^

Got a lot of things to do leh, but need to sleep also leh...how? Should I be hardworking? Or should I slack? Dunno leh...

It's the year 2005, I should chill out man...I think I will...

ok, going to go now...too sian already...ciaoz

Yeah, it's starting already, it's 2005, my ORD year...cut me some slack man. anyhow, there's a route march today, dunno whether i should skip it or not...not really keen on it though. I probably won't skip it lor, cos my guys are marching...so i should go along. Besides, my boss is going as well, so yeah.

yawnz...early morning must wake up...

Good morning world!!! I'm up and about already. Today going for some silly Combat Shoot which will effectively burn my entire day away... So exciting. It's been a long while since I have had to draw arms, fire live ammo, and of course, clean rifle after that. What more could a guy ask for? ^_^

Anyways, I'm contemplating whether or not to go for the NUS open house this Sat. No one to accompany me leh...so sad. Maybe I should ask one of me friends to walk me around the place...see how lah...heh

okay, got to go already...the tonner (don't worry if you don;t know what this is...not important) is honking for us.

ciaoz!

Boss left camp liao, means I get to play! Yay... I think I'll go out and get my picture taken for my Uni matriculation. Been wanting to do so for so long already, but been so busy with the ROC Flight Administration...sigh.

Tmr got Cbt Shoot...burn one whole day away liao...sigh... But we've gotta do what we've gotta do yeah? Ok, time for last parade!

Post in later...

friends...missing them

Sitting in my boss's office again...today just kenna another last minute button press by Formation...must rush all changes by 1000hrs tmr. Shit man...

Anyway, the past few days I've started to realise that I really miss my friends. Friends from secondary school, college, camp...everywhere. Don't know why, but feeling rather broody, moody...you know, just down.

Let's start from the most recent... Jianhong is leaving soon, and I realise that I'm really going to miss his company. A real good friend he has become to me...really going to miss him. That's the entry from camp.

From JC I miss one friend, and a group of friends; two entities.

I miss my classmates Mish, Xiaomin & Jianping a lot. We used to shop, eat and do everything together after/during/before school. It was great. I'll always remember walking up and down Orchard FIVE times with the girls, looking at the same old stores over and over again. I also miss the bridge games we had in school...most fun. We start a game, teacher confiscates the cards, we whip out another pack...haha.

I miss Nathanael alot too. I call him Nat for short. We became friends only in JC, and became really close. Alomst like brothers. Always could confide in each other for almost everything. I remember whenever we had problems, or needed to talk, we would usually have dinner near Fullerton area, then walk by One Fullerton to just talk out any frustrations or problems we had in our lives. I really miss those talks and nights we spent together. It was good having a close friend I could tell everything to. Now abit distant after JC, but we're meeting up soon I think...at least this week or the next, so we can catch up (the shit ORDs on the 18th this month...ugh)

Secondary school friends...not so bad... I still chat with Paul (very good fren, always there for me, bestest man). I'm meeting up with my juniors, Russell, Ian, Joseph, Kelvin on the 26th of steamboat BBQ at Russ' place...so still got keep in contact...so not too bad lah. ^_^

I was feeling this whole missinig thing really bad on Monday morning when I was cycling into work. I mean I ws actually mumbling to myself, saying how much I missed my friends...I thought I was going crazy man...now not so bad already. I think it's because I'm back to work lah..must be. It takes one's mind off many things.

Anyway, I think I'll stop posting already. My posts always seem so long...too many feelings...should try to feel less...or just try some other way of letting of steam I guess...

Ah well...nitez nitez... I hate Flight Admin...

this is Jeffrey, but i call him Jeff. Most powerful deck to date...his super expensive Goblin deck...mono-red, super utility, super fast...fries you to a crisp before in even know it. splashes black for so good ol' graveyard recursion, so those red critters just keep on coming... Jeff's more of a broody (at least he tries to be) kinda guy...cool dude...fun to be with..should spend less money ( i keep trying to tell him) Posted by Hello

introducing Michael...one of my Magic kakis. plays a mean Elf deck which can decimate you unless you're packing red/black removal. he's half-Thai, so that's something for you ladies to look out for... kinda metrosexual-ish (he's in a cheerleading team...cool yah?) Posted by Hello

these were the best buddies back when they were in OCS. One bdae boy, and one heck of an excellent driver...thanks Des!!! Posted by Hello

the birthday boy.. ^_^ Posted by Hello

another birthday party...in the east...no less...

yesterday was my friend peng chuan's bdae party. since he lives in the east as well, i had to make the arduous journey to unfamiliar terrain again...haiz... fortunately for me, i have desmond to drive us there...haha

it really is convenient to get have a car...very much more convenient man....anyhow, we finally found the place...super deep in somewhere near Tanah Merah area...i mean the condo's at the end of a road...and on top of a hill or something...not the most accessible place...but we managed it... inside the place, there were many parties going on, and we walked into a wrong BBQ...how embarrassing...haha...

the place was nice enough, by the poolside, BBQ heartily roaring away...many friends...it is his 21st mah...so must 're nao' abit...

we hung around, made some small talk...but didn't really get to talk to peng at all. the poor guy was like a freaking coolie...running around, tending to his guests, tending to the BBQ...really like a slave man...i felt so bad for him. What took the cake was (pardon the pun), his dad came up to him and asked if he had collected his cake... I was like WTF?! Why in the world would the birthday boy have to collect his own cake? I realised that though it really is great to have friends all around you, and many prezzies, and relatives and friends, and more friends....what i would want for my 21st would be to be pampered. I would rather someone planned everything out for me, and i just have to..well..be present..

this is the second bdae party where i see the poor 21-yr-old work his/her sorry ass off...i certainly dun want that. anyway, i do think that peng still had a good time with all his friends from church, camp, and the misc grp (that's us)...haha...

lemme post some pics of the happy occasion yeah?

excellent morning...

i've just had a great morning...

1. Wake up.
2. Drink a glass of water, followed by Florida's Natural 'Most Pulp' juice...REFRESH!
3. Dress up, head to camp (boss wants to meet me to 'co-ord').
4. Decide to go to gym to workout since am early (only good thing to come of this this morning).
5. After 3rd/4th set of bench presses, boss calls.
6. We chit-chat for a bit...gave a verbal update on the happenings of the week.
7. Boss asks if we could meet tmr (BAAAD VIBE courses thru body)
8. I give a non-committal 'Errr...'
9. I give a reluctant 'Ok lor...'
10.Boss will meet me on Monday morning instead (after more 'Err..'s and 'Ok lor...'s)

Final Verdict: Excellent morning...juice, exercise and a healthsome dose of irritation... REFRESHING!!!

Cheers...

finally...the fifth day of the week...mwahaha...

It was not easy getting here, but with great perseverance, great patience, great colleagues, and esp great friends...i have survived HELL WEEK!!! Yay!!!

It's finally Friday, and i'm finally happy...my only worry is next Monday's Overseas Brief, but that should not be a problem lah...so I'm not too worried....anyhow, i'm going to enjoy my Friday/Sat...then worry about Monday on Sunday...in that way, I should still be able to make everyone's day... (ok, I have no idea what i just typed...but I'm sure my friends would agree that it was total rubbish..)

I think i will go for a day of Magic on Sat, then maybe in the evening i'll stop by my grandpa's place to pay him a visit..at the same time post so pics yah? Sunday, I'll go down again and touch up my briefing slides, and hopefully, eveything will be good-to-go on Monday...heh

okay lah, i really shouldn't be blogging at this time of the day... work, woRK, WORK!!! ^_^

*the light vanished, the sound faded, there was nought, there was nought...emptiness...
the light appeared, the sound returned, there was light, there was sound...presence*

I'M A SURVIVOR!!!

today, i managed to survive the powers which rule my Bn...haha...quite surprised with myself. Anyhow, I've finally finished with my "S1" portion of the week...now it is time to start my own work...flight administration and dealing with powerful being up on Bukit Gombak Hill..haha

anyhow, my aunt emailed me today, she said i complained and whined too much...but what can you expect a boy to do? when you're under so much pressure, you're under so much pressure...there's only so much one can take.

anyway, it is good to see that my aunt is well...heh

I really hope i can go to Denmark, but really no guarantee leh...must see my boss lah, what he says. now i keep thinking about admin lapses and things such as this...can't stand it...just wanna fly up to Taiwan and get it over and done with...well, 26 days and counting to departure...yay!!!

staying up late is really starting to take a toll on me...my head is starting to hurt...ugh... i think i need to take a break now...must go and sleep...

okay lah, good night lah... *yawnZ*

*blink blink* *yawnz*

Just finished doing up my Powerpoint slides for my CO Conference tmr. Very tired...

Am now just sitting in S2 Branch, stoning slightly, and listening to 93.3..not my fav station, but it'll have to do. Today kenna again like yesterday...same classic case as described in yesterday's post...damn pissing man.

After tmr's conference, everything should lighten up a little...so I can finally focus on my oen shit...really quite worried about it as really no one monitoring for me lor...so scared get lapsed of something...haiz..

okay lah...i really need to get some shut-eye...i'll leave you with something i found interesting which my friend sms-ed me:

"English is annoying. You may light the streets up but you may not light up the streets.
The former means to give light; the latter to set fire to. Light up and light are two different verbs.
The first is a phrasal verb so it functions differently. Ah! Feels gd to get tt out."
- Paul Ng-
Not too bad right? I get this kind of interesting smses...haha...
gtg now...nitez...
