lectures were a blast today!

Today I had two lectures, and both were excellent!

GEK1049 - Introduction to Narrative

Hmm, what I thought would be a very Lit-ish module, is turning out to be more than that. We started the lecture with movie clips, music videos, classical paintings, pop songs and not forgetting the usual spattering of pompous terminology that the world of academia is famous for.

I was a little late for the lecture (5 mins), but it looks to be pretty interesting I think...I hope I get a ton of non-FASS classmates, so that can stand out abit... (yes yes, evil and pragmatic..but I couldn't care less)

6 hour break

Spent it having lunch, and trying to read my readings...not that successful, which is why I will be making up for it tmr...studying late in school tmr night! ^_^ Made a new friend before my 4pm lecture...a cute and bubbly girl called Lai Yee. Nice to meet you Lai Yee!

SC2212 - Sociology of Deviance

This was a little embarrassing. I made Vi and Lai Yee walk all the way to LT8, when it was actually in LT9...felt so bad..and because we made such a long detour, we ended up sitting right up in front.

Fortunately, after excessive rubbing in about how silly I was from Lai Yee (she can be unforgiving, and I'd only JUST met this woman ok?), it turns out that our lecturer has no tolerance for technology, and will not be utilising the IVLE at all! He insists on lecture with no PowerPoint, and we as students will have to LISTEN and TAKE NOTES! Talk about old school sia...after he announced this...Darren grudingly took out his foolscap pad...hahaha

Well, Vi was thrilled, and Lai Yee was sorta glad (after a some convincing from me) she sat in front, cos' then she wouldn't fall asleep...haha...it was refreshing to challeng myself from stoning, and practising picking out all the important points. Been a long while since I last did that...heh

He drones a little, but generally he makes very pointed, and pertinent comments about our country, and the world in general. Highly entertaining, but not recommended for people with minds the size of pin heads or minds so narrow that Kate Moss wouldn't fit inside.

Tuition at Central Green

Started a new tuition assignment at Central Green condo! So NEAR! Yay! She only wants me to teach English Comprehension, and it's only once a week, one and a half hours each time...
Student is a Primary 5 Taiwanese boy who only came to Singapore last June...

very clever, very cute, has a knack for bargaining (according to his mom)...

His mother is the nicest woman (though I sense an air of "don't-mess-with-me-cos-i-got-secret-powers" about her), and super polite and warm.

Tutorial Balloting Results

For once, I actually got EVERYTHING I planned for! Amazing! I was pleasantly surprised man...haha...not bad not bad...

This semester had regenerated some of the hope which I lost last semester after the terrible war with the World of CORS dragon...
