As I walk with trepidation into this new life, I think about the severity of my actions in my past life. It seems as though I have learnt many new things about myself, or at least they seemed to be new things. I highly suspect they are things that I've always known, and just have not thought about for a long while.
The ability to socially meld into any setting is a powerful one, and is something that should be cherished. I do, however, wish to be able to project this ability differently - into more, umm, varied facets of my life. The shining Sun sprays forth its golden light into the world, and ignites growth and power in all beings. That being said, the darkness within men's hearts are also a strong power, when our hearts and minds happily act as conduits for this vileness that resides in all of us.
Of wisdom and courage, we have some, and sadly even that is rarely exercised. Follies in judgement often lead to heartache and frustration, eventually cyclical patterns then forever taking hold. Drawing reference from my favourite Naruto - you will always be forever stuck in the genjutsu, until you die, or disrupt with your flow of chakra. It's pretty interesting how the simplest solutions are ever present around us, and yet we fail to see them with our eyes which have grown myopic and petty and stubborn over the years.
This long holiday is going to be just that - a LONG holiday. The annoyance of it all...sighz...what to do? Next week is ICT (In Camp Training) for me, and I am quite looking forward to it, and yet dreading all that I have to accomplish within the few hours of the commencement of the ICT. *fingers crossed*
On a brighter note, I've met new friends recently, and they all seem like well-mannered, technically well-adjusted individuals of our harsh society. Good good...more sane people to support and to be supported by. Whew...such is the grace of the universe, the people, and the powers that be. *ommmm*
LOL...
This post has been a random musing brought to you by XJ. May you glean whatever wisdom you may find in it (goodness knows I sure can't find any..hehe), and take home whatever pleasure you may gain from reading this post.
THIS IS MY PLACE... MY SPACE... MY THOUGHTS... MY FEELINGS... MY LIFE... just ME...

Worst Semester Ever!
I got crap grades...
CAP actually dropped by 0.2...
Gosh...those of you who remember my previous CAP score will now know that my plans of doing Honours are in danger. I think small class sizes really screwed me this semester, and I DO NOT (for the life of me!) have the 'sociological imagination'.
Anyway, not in the best of moods right now, and PLEASE don't ask me if I'm ok...I hate that shit. You have to be specially 'trained' to navigate that area of questioning without me thinking that you sound like the greeting card attached to the wreath they send to funerals. LOL
I guess that makes it super clear about where to put my priorities next semester i.e. no more CCA shit for me. I can build my CV in other ways. Sighz...
Off to tuition, poor uni student, with crap grades, still needs his $$$ you know?
Ciaoz!

Lessons Learnt...
1. Money blows Family and Integrity out of the water time and time again.
2. I should learn to care a little less...it makes things easier.
3. Respect is soo easily lost...
4. Patience is a tough virtue to practise.

SMSes
amidst all the useless but well-intentioned SMSs
only one moved me to tears...
thank you for saying what, even i myself did not realise, i needed/wanted to hear
i thank you so much for knowing me that well...
thank you so much from the bottom of my heart...
really love you for being here for me
^_^

*stunned*
I am glad that I managed to tell him that I loved him and that I was thankful for all his love.
He was waiting for me to come see him...only me...
Then he left...

Pimp My Motor Vehicle!
Welcome to today's episode of Pimp My Random Motor Vehicle! Today we have a special treat for everyone! What vehicle are we pimping tonight? We are pimping an SBS bus!!! Can you believe it?!
Neither can I! Here we go....
Today, we are aiming for the lounge/club/bar look and feel...wish us luck!

Luscious sofa-like seats replace the usual boring two-seaters! Faux leather in pristine white covers the entirety of the seat, promising luxurious comfort for commuters. No longer do you have to cram your backside into a narrow seat - perfect for SBS's plus-sized commuters! How considerate, don't you think?

For those who prefer to exhibit a more individualistic self, we have installed comfortable one-seaters that promise to accommodate the most prosperous of behinds. These seats will not be able to swivel around as you would usually expect, for we are aware of the safety requirements. We certainly do not want our commuters falling all over the place. ^_^
To fully complete the lounge-ish feel, we have installed a mock up of a bar, complete with our very own glossy bartender. Handsome isn't he? Remember to pop by the bar for a chat or a drink.
This has been an excellent episode of Pimp My Motor Vehicle! Remember to tune in next week for our exciting season finale! ^_^

All Over Again
Sitting there by his bed, I watched him sleep.
It was not an easy sight to bear as I held his hands and felt the coldness,
Or rather, the absence of warmth.
I thought to myself how great it would be if I could really channel heat through my hands to his.
Of course, there is no such thing.
The closest I've heard is reiki and related forms of energy channeling.
And even then there are detractors very much against the practitioners of such disciplines, though I have personally experienced the 'art' performed on myself.
Whatever the case was, I placed my hands over his and commented how cold they felt.
He merely nodded, eyes closed, somewhat unresponsive.
I no longer knows what he wants; communication is almost lost.
He places both palms together, in the fashion of praying, and moves them back and forth -
as though doing so would invoke the spirits to have mercy on him.
I just sat there, content to stare into his old face, carved full of lines by time and experience.

(The feeling of indifference is probably a defense mechanism to protect myself from the pain that is eminent. And no, I still haven't told him I love him. I need to figure out the words first. Yeah yeah, excuses excuses...)
I remember staring at the family portrait hanging in the living room.
I was only 7 or 8 then, I don't remember.
She was still around then. I remember her loud voice filling the home and making it whole all the time.
When she left, she took half the home with her, and we moved into a new place, with only half of what we once had.
Now, he may leave soon, taking the other half with him. The silence that was his will soon be gone, just the noise was hers and had left with her passing.
Then all that will be left is an empty home...and newfound independence and sadness all mixed together in one confusing package.I was only 7 or 8 then, I don't remember.

I still want to be able to channel warmth through my hands, to replace that absence of heat in the cold hands of others.
I miss you...every single day... ^_^

2. ...use cheap hairwax?
3. ...have Santa Claus living in your scalp?
4. ...tried exfoliating your scalp with sea salt? (what WERE you thinking?)
===============================================================
Some bitchy things you can say to a person with dandruff...LOL

Halfway through...
Just finished my EL2111 paper today...it sure was fun! Picture this...
Got time:
*copying from notes*
*thinks to self*: Hmmm..I have time, I think I will paraphrase this...and this...and this...
*sense of satisfaction*
No time:
*copying from notes*
*thinks to self*: Hmm...no time liao...
*continues copying*
Don't you just love open book papers? ^_^
My next paper is next Monday! Gosh...I have so much time can? I will be printing out my notes tmr, and then I will file them and look through them. I think I will allocate some time for my EL3254 (also open book) as well. Because I have sooo much time, I am soooo tempted to just go and buy my Nightfall chapter, and start a little bit on it can? Argh...
*resists the GuildWars demon*
Been studying with Leo in CL this semester, cos we're sharing THREE modules anyway...talk about overkill man. But we're cool, even though we quarrelledthe most times this semester...hahaha...too close for comfort liao. =P
Anyway, we were having our usual bitchy day in the library yesterday, and guess what? Karmic retribution!

This is what happens when you badmouth someone for the entire morning. One third of your chicken the uncle serves is made of fat and skin! Hah...too bad for Leonard...he had to deal with all this fat...I was clever enough not to buy from the chicken rice stall in business. I had a much nicer noodle dish from the Beijing Feng Wei stall.
See? Much nicer right? Hahaha...anyway, we were so bored that stupid Leo decided to play a practical joke on me! And Tien did not even stop him! Grrrrrrrrrr..................
I kenna bullied lor...haiz....and this THING is supposed to be my best friend...ugh...*disgusted*
Two more papers to go! Gambatte ne! ^_^
I am going to sleep early tonight...going to take advantage of the excellent weather!

this was one of the most tense moments of the film...
守恒: 快点啊!
正行: 那。。。我跟慧嘉
守恒:*pretends not to hear* 啊?!
it really sucks not being able to tell your best friend the truth.
sometimes it's just being so close that makes it super difficult to say what you truly feel.
the pain of being close, the fear that the truth will destroy everything.
the notion that what you truly feel will totally rock and cause their world to crumble.

Bad Timing
Sitting at home waiting for a call from the hospital now...
I have to be the main liaison person, since my Mom is fucking frustrated with the staff at the hospital. Basically, we've been getting calling from the various departments of AH the entire morning, and it's truly amazing...how everything along the hospital 'process' line is so segmented that everyone is basically concerned with his or her job...
On the side of the patient/patient's family, we have to repeat out story...say...20 million times? Haha...the irony of it all lah...systems that make our lives that much 'EASIER'... RAWRS...
My Mom blew up at a trainee nurse, and trust me, you do not want to have my Mom blow up at you...you may be scarred for life...LOL. I guess I am pretty frustrated at having to deal with all this during my examination period...I just wanna sit down and study...but cannot leh...have to handle this and handle that....argh....
Just wanna rant abit...in fact, I realised that it's soo annoying that I don't even have the energy to type the situation out in full detail...
okok, I have to go now...the laundry's done...hahaha...yeah...you heard me right. LAUNDRY...since when do I do laundry right? HAHAHAHA...
Ciaoz!

English!!! ^_^
Thank you Paul for the vid, and Beth for transcribing.
Three fellows wenten into a Pubbe
and Gleefullie their hands did Rubbe
In expectacion of Revelrie
T'was the hour that was Happie
Great bottels of wine did they quaff
and had a really good laff
Til drunkedness held Full Dominion
For tis Two for the price of Onne
Yet after wine and mead and sack
men must have a massive snack
Great pasties from Cornwall
Scottish eggs, round like a Balle
Great hams, quail duck and geese
They sucked the bones and drank the grease
One fellow stood all pale and wan
For he was a vegetarian
Yet man knoweth for gluttony
stoketh the fire of lechery
Upon three young wenches round and sly
the fellows cast a wanton eye
One did approach with drunken wink
"'Ello, darling, ya fancy a drink?"
Soon they caught them on their knee
Twas like some grizzly puppetry
Such was the lewdness and debauchery
Twas like a sketch by Dick Emery
Except that Dick Emery is not yet Borne
So such comparison may not be Drawne
Then the fellows began to pale
For quail is not the friend of ale
And in their bellies much confusion
From their throats vile extrusion
Stinking foul corrupcion
Came spewing forth from drooling lips
The fetid stench did fill the pub
Twas the very arse of Beelzebub
Thrown they were from hall and trumpet
In the street no coin no strumpet
Homeward board they must quickly go
To that end the donkey stole
Their hands all with vomit greased
The donkey, well was not pleased
And threw them into a ditch of shite
They all agreed, "What a brilliant night."

Of Donuts, SIM & Waraku!

I had my first cheese and wasabi donut (see top left corner...the funky one with a light green dot in the centre) yesterday, courtesy of dearest Aeron. Apparently he went 'donut-ing' (I quote him...) and brought back a box of lovelies after queuing for goodness knows how long. I was on my way to tuition when I met him on Bus D (I think), and I 'liberated' a funky looking donut from him...

It's not that clear, but the top of the donut was covered with very light (and shiny), savoury cheese, and there was this light green wasabi filling inside. It was not as spicy as I thought it would be...I think they mixed in too much mayonnaise inside such that it nullified the spiciness of the wasabi.
Anyhow, it was an interesting snack as I made my to Kent Ridge Terminal...thanks Aeron!
=================================================================

This morning I got up early to head down to Singapore Institute of Management to surprise Jun at her graduation! It sure was fun surprising your friend and seeing her face light up with happiness...(yes, sometimes I have that effect on people....*shameless*) Must thank Michelle for inviting me down to the graduation if not I would not have known about it at all...heh
I took a cab down and the whole way, it was this jovial taxi driver who had Hokkien songs playing...and he saw me smiling and when I said I enjoyed listening to Hokkien songs, he lit up, turned up the volume and sang the whole way (he wasn't too bad a singer..and I had a good time...heh)
I did not know that they had to pay for their reception leh...you'd think that after paying so much school fees, the place would provide for the reception right? But no lor...Jun said that the reception was $15 per pax...of course I did not pay for this prior to coming, and basically I freeloaded the entire time! I did not even take breakfast before going down...so I really 'whacked' the buffet tables! Pigging out is great! ^_^

Jun's flowers! (complete with cuddly rabbits/dogs...I couldn't tell which...hee ^_^)
Not too bad lah..for $15 per pax..the plates and cutlery were all NOT disposable and quite ingeniously designed. If you look carefully, there is a opening for your drink (which I conveniently used to stick my thumb through) and there are even little slots in the rim of the plate for you to stick your fork and spoon in! And the plastic is of good quality some more...not some cheapo plate...quite atas... ^_^
This should be my 2nd or 3rd helping... (YES, I pigged out!)
Pig-Pig! *munch, chew, swallow*After everything, I even met up with Gavin cos he was studying the library and did not want to appear too 'bu yao lian'...I told him to just fuck it and eat lor...no one knows whether you paid or not lor..hahaha ^_^ It was nice seeing him again after so long. I wanted to meet Johnson also, but he was sick at home...ah well...will probably see him at the clubs or something....wahahaha...

I just finished dinner with Fifi, Alex, Lionel (cuter one), Philip, HX & Vince at Waraku at Central (this new shopping centre at Clarke Quay). Dinner was nice...fun to have everyone there chatting and enjoying each other's company.
Fifi and Alex went shopping before dinner, and they bought me a polo tee! Belated birthday present! ^_^ Sooo sweet...and apparently Alex stripped in public to try on the polo...awww...so sweet...fortunately, they got me a new piece...hahaha...
The shirt fits well, but it the kind where it acts a constant reminder that I cannot afford to get fatter...wahahaha...so that's good, I think...heeheee...
The shirt was shared by Fifi, Alex and Alastair! Thanks guys. ^_^
Lub alls of yous deeps deeps...heehee
Tomorrow got meeting in school....*roars* What to do? HEH...

XJ loves COOKIE!!!

Hui bought me this wonderful cookie from that wonderful coffee establishment today. This came at the perfect time considering I had not eaten anything prior to this. Whew...lifesaver! ^_^
It was a thank-you for all the wonderful GIFs that I've been making for her. This woman has some strange desire to see her fave 'idols' in animated GIF format. Fortunately for her, I happen to be able to make simple GIFs..hee
Glad you like those GIFs babe! Give me more requests if you wanna ok? Take care you Muse-loving, Kruznick-adoring fangirl! *bleah*

23 already...
Not the most spectacular of birthdays considering I had to spend it in school doing projects.
Thank you Hongxuan for that short, but nice luncheon at MM (I will let your imaginations run wild...heh).
Thank you Leo and Tien for the simple dinner at our favourite (actually ONLY) Taiwanese restaurant at Fong Seng.
(Basically, today, all my meals were paid for...hahaha...)
Thanks to all my friends who wished me well! ^_^
I think I will sleep early tonight...suddenly very sleepy...tomorrow I will be doing my first ever emcee gig (at least I THINK it is my first...can't remember whether I did any emceeing in school last time or not....heh)
15mins left of my day will be spent showering...heh
